Amy Vincent, Occupational Therapist has particular expertise in respiratory and dust diseases including mesothelioma and silicosis, catastrophic injuries and illnesses including traumatic brain injuries, amputations and spinal cord injuries, as well as neurological, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal disorders.

Comprehensive assessments

Our Occupational Therapy assessments are completed via secure video telehealth. Our Occupational Therapist undertakes a comprehensive assessment which includes a full functional capacity evaluation, relevant standardised outcome measures and a home environment assessment. We take the time to properly assess and understand each client as an individual in order to inform our final report and expert recommendations.

Independent and objective reports

Our Occupational Therapy reports cover vocational suitability, past, current and future care requirements, major and minor home modifications and equipment requirements following illness or injury. Our Occupational Therapist is qualified to deliver independent and objective opinion and the recommendations provided are based on evidence based practice and robust clinical reasoning.

All our reports comply with the Expert Witness Code of Conduct. Our Occupational Therapist is confident and experienced in providing expert witness testimony.

    With over 18 years experience in Occupational Therapy, Amy’s clinical experience has allowed her to provide expert opinion on a diverse range of matters involving clients with:


    • Respiratory diseases and dust diseases including mesothelioma, asbestosis and silicosis
    • Catastrophic injuries and illnesses including traumatic brain injuries, amputations and spinal cord injuries
     

    Amy is regularly called upon to provide expert witness testimony in the District and Supreme Courts of Queensland, the Supreme Court of New South Wales and Dust Diseases Tribunal of New South Wales.

  • Qualifications

    Amy holds a Masters of Occupational Therapy Studies from the University of Queensland and has completed postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom. Amy has worked across a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, residential care facilities and other community and vocational settings. Amy has considerable experience managing teams of allied health professionals, and has been recognised nationally for her contributions to improving service delivery and outcomes for her clients.

    Amy founded The Therapy Collective in 2016 having previously worked extensively across clinical and healthcare management roles in Australia and the United Kingdom.

    Amy’s expertise includes, but is not limited to, the areas of aged care, acute and chronic injury management, chronic disease management, neurological rehabilitation and palliative care, working with clients of all ages across the public and private sectors

We use Coviu which is an Australian developed video telehealth software platform recommended by the Australian Government. It is simple to use and is a secure platform that leaves no digital footprint to ensure client confidentiality is maintained.
